The ORDPB Organizing the English Training Course on
“Being a Tour Guide at the Royal Development Study Centres” For the Officials of the ORDPB and the Royal Development Projects in Fiscal Year 2024
The ORDPB organized the English training course on “Being a Tour Guide at the Royal Development Study Centres'' for the officials of the ORDPB and the royal development projects from 24 - 28 June 2024, at the Royal Development Projects Building, ORDPB, and the Kung Krabaen Bay Royal Development Study Centre in Chanthaburi Province. There were 20 participants in total, including the officials from all six Royal Development Study Centres, officials from the Royal-initiated Pak Phanang River Basin Development Project, and ORDPB officials. The training course was conducted by the Andrew Biggs Academy.
From 24 - 25 June 2024, the participants received basic English language training at the Royal Development Projects Building, ORDPB. Activities included pronunciation practice, listening exercises, and role-playing for English conversation, giving participants the opportunity to practice English skills for tour guide work and learn techniques and methods to improve their English comprehension and usage.
From 26 - 28 June 2024, the participants practiced using English for tour guides in an actual setting at the Kung Krabaen Bay Royal Development Study Centre. The participants simulated the role of tour guides, introducing various areas within the royal development study centre in English, as if welcoming foreign delegations or effectively presenting academic activities within the centre.
This training course focused on developing the participants' English language skills for tour guide duties. The participants were equipped with skills in greeting and welcoming various visitors, including formal protocols for receiving different delegates of visitors. Participants can effectively apply the knowledge gained from this training course in their work for future career advancement.
